Kinesiology taping is a taping technique designed for use in both therapeutic rehabilitation and performance situations. Used for over 25 years on humans, we have more recently seen the beneficial use of taping in equines. As often seen on athletes in the field, horses can also continue to be ridden with the tape on. Used in a rehabilitation format the benefits of Using Elastic Kinesiology Tape - increased blood flow and oxygenation which promotes and facilitates healing -decreased muscle spams, tension, soreness and trigger points -relaxation of over worked muscles -effectively decreases oedema and swelling - support to tendons, ligaments and joints in both athletic and injury rehab situations
